How do I record a gift?

Tap the + button on the Home or Occasions screen. Choose Received or Given, cash / gift / both, the amount, the person, and optionally the occasion, a photo and notes. At a busy event, use Save & Add Another — the occasion and date carry over so each entry takes seconds.

What does "Your turn" / "Their turn" mean?

It's the reciprocity between you. If someone has given you more than you've given them, it's your turn to give back; if you've given more, it's their turn. When you're balanced, you're even.

What's a hosted ("My family's") occasion?

When you're the host — Dad's birthday at your place, your Diwali gathering — mark the occasion as My family's. Shagunly flips perspective: the button becomes Log gifts received, entries default to Received, and there's no "gift owed" pressure since guests give to you.

How do reminders work?

For every upcoming occasion, Shagunly reminds you at 9 AM three days before (or the day before / morning of, if it's added late). The reminder includes what that person gave you last time, so you can plan a fitting gift. Tapping the reminder opens the occasion.

Two spellings created two people — can I merge them?

Yes. In the People tab, expand the person and tap Rename. Renaming to an existing person's name merges their ledgers automatically.

How do I export my data?

Settings → Export Your Data shares two spreadsheet files — one with every gift, one with every occasion. A good backup anytime.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete Account permanently removes your entries, occasions and account. It cannot be undone. If anything goes wrong, email us and we'll remove your data for you.

I can't sign in.

If email/password isn't matching, use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. If you originally signed up with Apple or Google, sign in with that same method. Still stuck? Email us from the address you signed up with.

Is my data private?

Yes — no ads, no tracking, no analytics. Your records live in your account alone, protected by row-level security, with an optional Face ID lock on the app. Read the full Privacy Policy.
