Privacy Policy

Shagunly is a personal app for keeping track of shagun — the gifts and cash you give and receive with family and friends, and the reciprocity between you. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. It is written plainly on purpose.

What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work for you:
- Your email address — used to create your account and sign you in.
- An account identifier — a unique ID assigned to your account so your records belong to you.
- The records you create — the entries and occasions you add: the names you enter for people, gift and cash amounts, dates, occasion types, and any notes. If you attach a photo to a gift, that image is stored too.
That's all. We do not collect your location, your contacts, your browsing activity, or any advertising identifiers. If you use “Add from Contacts” to pick a name, only that one person's name is used — Shagunly never accesses or stores your full contact list.
What stays only on your device
- Face ID / Touch ID — if you turn on the app lock, biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device. Your biometric data never leaves your phone and is never seen by us.
- Your display name — the name shown in your home greeting is stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
How we use your information
Your information is used for one purpose: to provide the app's features — signing you in, saving and showing your entries and occasions, reminding you about upcoming occasions, and showing your reciprocity history. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or analytics about you.
How your information is stored
Your account and records are stored using Supabase, a hosting and database provider that acts as our data processor. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We access it only to operate the app and support you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Your information is only handled by:
- Supabase — our hosting and database provider, solely to store your account and records.
- Apple and Google — if you choose to sign in using “Sign in with Apple” or “Sign in with Google”, those providers handle that authentication step under their own privacy policies. We receive only what is needed to create your account, such as your email address.
- Apple — when the app is distributed through TestFlight or the App Store, Apple handles delivery and any crash information per its own policies.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your records and account are removed.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the app. This permanently removes your entries, occasions, and your account. This cannot be undone.
If you ever have trouble deleting your data from within the app, email us at piyushggrove@gmail.com and we will remove it for you.
Your rights
You have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, and have it deleted. Most of this you can do directly in the app — your records are yours to view, edit, and remove. For anything else, contact us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU/UK GDPR, or similar regulations; we honour these requests.
Children
Shagunly is not directed at children. It is intended for adults managing their own gift records, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles your information, we will update this policy and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
